Carl W. Heimerl
Carl W. Heimerl, 90, passed away on Friday, Feb. 2, 2007 at Hartford Care Center.
He was born April 5, 1916 in Leroy to John and Mary (nee Hebert) Heimerl.
Carl married his fist wife, Evona (nee Roeseler) on Nov. 25, 1950 and she preceded him in death. He then married Delores (nee Frank) Mar. 14, 1981 at David Star Church.
Carl worked for the Dodge County Highway Department for 34 years and after retiring worked at Cedar Lake Community for 10 years. He served his country in the Army as a MP during World War II. He was an avid sports fan and loved the Brewers and Packers. He was a charter member of the Rock River League Old-Timers Association, serving as president for 10 years. He was vice president of the Rock River League for 25 years and a member of the Hall of Fame. Carl was the manager for the Rubicon Baseball Team for 45 years.
He belonged to the Henry F. Gumm American Legion Post #486 in Jackson, was a member of the Hartford Senior Friends. Carl was a lifelong member of St. John Catholic Church in Rubicon.
He is survived by his wife Delores; three daughters, Susan (Allen) Van Dyke of Hustisford, Carol (Patrick) Schraufnagel of Iron Ridge and Holly Tennison (Larry Becker) of Menomonee Falls; four grandchildren, Adam Schraufnagel, Jared Van Dyke, Ross Becker and Brent Becker; two sisters-in-law, Audrey Walker and Nancy (Don) Walker. Carl is further survived by other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Evona; three sisters, Margaret Kelly, Sister Lucille Heimerl and Marie Klink, four brothers; Clarence, Lester, John and Francis "Happy."
Mass of Christian burial for Carl will be held Tuesday, Feb. 6 at 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church (W1170 Rome Rd., Rubicon).
The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday from 4-8 p.m. American Legion #486 walk-thru at 6:30 p.m. followed by a vigil service at 7 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home, (824 Union St., Hartford). Additional visitation at church Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.
Interment St. John Cemetery, Rubicon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. John Catholic Church appreciated.
