Clayton L. Ashworth

Clayton L. Ashworth of Sheboygan, formerly of Ashippun, passed away Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007 at the age of 91.

He was born on Aug. 2, 1915 in New Jersey, the son of Ernest and Irene (nee Biggs) Ashworth, and married Elizabeth Wieand on April 8, 1944 in New Jersey.

He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Clayton was a longtime member of St. Paulís Episcopal Church in Ashippun.

He was a member of Hartford American Legion Courtney-Carr-Milner Post 9.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth of 62 years; his children, Jane (Lawrence) Lynch of Sheboygan Falls, Dr. Rebecca (Stewart McNeil) Ashworth of Eustis, Fla. and Clayton Lee (Stella Faye) Ashworth of Rock Springs, Ga.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his sister and brothers, Dorothy Hildebrant, Earl, Ernest Jr. and Parker Ashworth; his grandson, Jared Lee Ashworth; and by one great-grandson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, Feb. 7, at 10 a.m. at St. Paulís Episcopal Church in Ashippun.

Interment will be in St. Paulís Church Cemetery.
