Michael S. Manchester

Michael S. Manchester, 55, of the town of Mayville died on Friday, Feb. 9, 2007 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on Jan. 17, 1952 in Milwaukee to the late Eugene and Frieda (nee David) Manchester, and on Jan. 30, 1972, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Jean E. Mikus in Port Washington.

As a teenager, the family moved to Port Washington. After graduating from Port Washington High School in 1971, Michael entered the United States Army, serving in Germany.

Following his discharge in June, 1973, he returned to Port Washington and began working for Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac.

In the late 1970s, the family moved to Cedar Grove, where they lived for five years before settling in Kewaskum for 20 years. For the past three years, Michael and Jean have lived in the town of Mayville.

In addition to enjoying sports, Michael spent time hunting, fishing and traveling with his family.

He was a devoted family man who will be deeply missed by his wife, whom he met when he was 14 years old, their children and grandchildren and many dear friends.

He was a beloved husband of Jean; loving father of Joshua Michael and Laura (Gary) Womack, both of Milwaukee, and the proud granddad of Michael and Solomon.

He is further survived by his twin brother, David of West Bend, many other dear family and friends.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jordan; a brother, Eugene Jr.; his father-in-law, Ernest Mikus; and a sister-in-law, Lori Mikus.

Private family services will be held.
