Randolph Walter Vande Vrede
Randolph Walter Vande Vrede, 56, of Fort Atkinson, died peacefully at his home Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007 surrounded by his family.
Randy was born Feb. 28, 1950 in Glenwood City, the son of Ber-dean and Dorothy (Wienke) Vande Vrede.
He graduated in 1968 from River Falls High School, and then attended the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, majoring in history and political science.
Randy transferred to UW-Stout to major in vocational rehabilitation and psychology with a minor in history.
He graduated in 1975, and began a 35-year career working with the developmentally disabled.
Randy worked at the Threshold in West Bend, Bethesda Lutheran Home in Watertown and finished his career at St. Colletta in Jefferson, retiring in 2006.
Survivors include, his loving wife, Kerry of Fort Atkinson; three daughters, Sarah Jean (Jonathan) Bina of Fort Atkinson, Jennifer Lynn (fiancˇ James Peterson) Vande Vrede of Madison and Lisa Marie Sosinske of Germantown; a beloved grandson, Kory Bina; his mother, Dorothy Vande Vrede of River Falls; a sister, Sherry (Steve) York of Ellsworth; a niece, Heather York of Ellsworth; other relatives and friends.
Randy was preceded in death by his father.
A memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 16, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 314 Barrie St., Fort Atkinson, with Rev. Bryan Engfer officiating.
Friends may call at the church on the Friday from 4 p.m. until the the time of the service.
