Josey Wilkens

Josey Wilkens, nee Delgado, 85, of West Bend, passed away Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007 at the Cedar Crossings Sub-Acute Care Center at St. Joseph’s Hospital in West Bend.

She was born on May 20, 1921 in Texas to the late Antonio and Marie (nee Espalin) Delgado. On Nov. 13, 1943 she was united in marriage to Ewald Wilkens at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Newburg. Ewald preceded her in death on Aug. 14, 1995.

Josey was an active member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in West Bend and was also a member of the St. John’s Ladies Aid.

She is survived by her son, Larry (Judy) Wilkens of West Bend; four grandchildren, Brandon, Alisha, Kristy and Brian; five great-grandchildren, Dakota, Adrianna, Arissa, Jordan and Jazmyn; a sister, Celia Carmona of Texas; a brother, David (Margot) Delgado of Colorado; three sisters-in-law, Phyllis Delgado of Brookfield, Ruth Busse of Schaumburg, Ill, and Gladys Hiller of West Bend; a brother-in-law, Ernest Kellar of Waubeka; as well as other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia, and a brother, Jesse.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 2 p.m. at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, West Bend. The Rev. George Mumm will officiate and burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 12 noon until the time of services.
