Curtis B. Smith

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. today, Feb. 20, for Curtis B. Smith at Crossroads Presbyterian Church (6031 W. Chapel Hill Road) in Mequon. Curt died at the Lasata Care Center on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007 at the age of 78. The Rev. John Gable will officiate the memorial service. Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the church, prior to the service. A second service in memory of Curt will be held at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow morning, Feb. 21, at the First Presbyterian Church (121 W. Florence) in Cambria. Interment will take place at the Cambria Cemetery. Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg is serving the family.

Curt was born on Nov. 7, 1928 in Fall River, son of the late Leonard S. and Lessie M. Smith. On Oct. 8, 1950, he married Eleanor A. Smith in Cambria. Their marriage was blessed with three children.

Curt served his country during the Korean Conflict as a U.S. Marine. He went on to work in the insurance industry for over 45 years and became president of Smith & Co. Life Insurance. Curt was a longtime member of Crossroads Presbyterian Church in Mequon and was also a member of the Masonic Lodge.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Lasata Care Center in Cedarburg for all of their care and compassion.

Curt is survived by his wife Eleanor A. Smith of Cedarburg; children David C. (Cathy) Smith of Cedarburg, Jean M. Smith of Cedarburg and Carol A. (Mark) Meske of Lisbon; grandchildren Sean Smith of Milwaukee, Kevin Smith of Milwaukee, Lori Meske of Lisbon and Kelsey Meske of Lisbon; and brother Stuart (Lois) Smith of Columbus. Curt is further survived by one niece, three nephews, other relatives and friends.
