Harold Carl Zimmerman

Harold Carl Zimmerman, 83, of West Bend, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, at the Samaritan Health Center in West Bend.

He was born on Aug. 9, 1923, in West Bend, to the late Otto and Anna (nee Plonsky) Zimmerman.

Harold served his country during World War II by enlisting in the United States Army.

After the war, Harold was united in marriage to Pearl Schoenbeck on July 16, 1949 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church on Pleasant Valley Road.

He was employed by the West Bend Co. for many years where he worked in the maintenance department.

Harold was a member of St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend.

He was an avid Chicago Bearís fan, and his favorite pastime was serving as an umpire for the West Bend Softball Association.

Harold is survived by his loving wife, Pearl; a daughter, Debbie (John) Butschlick of West Bend; two grandchildren, Renee (Scott) Altendorf of West Bend and Jamie (Mandy) Butschlick of Jackson; a great-grandson, Quentin Butschlick of Jackson; and great-grandbaby Altendorf of West Bend.

He is further survived by a sister-in-law, Marlay Zimmerman of West Bend; a brother-in-law, Donald (Pearl) Schoenbeck of West Bend; and many other nieces, nephews and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Bonnie Lee; three sisters; and three brothers.

A memorial service in honor of Haroldís life will be held on Thursday, Feb. 22, at noon at St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend.

Rev. George Mumm will officiate, and burial will take place in Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church Cemetery on Thursday at 3 p.m.

A visitation with the family will be held Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at noon.

Memorials to St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church School Tuition Grant would be greatly appreciated by the family.
