Catherine Mary Kuepper

Catherine Mary Kuepper (nee Weich), of Slinger entered into eternal peace on Feb. 20, 2007 at Cedar Lake Health and Rehabili-tation Center in West Bend, after 86 years of life.

Catherine was born on July 21, 1920, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (nee Willkomm) Weich in Slinger, where she was also raised and attended school.

After high school, she furthered her education at Marquette University, receiving her registered nursing degree. Cathe-rine worked at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center for 21 years, as a supervisory nurse, during which time she completed her bachelorís of nursing at the University of Wisconsin.

In her free time, she loved gardening, arts and crafts, playing cards, and entertaining her family and friends. She especially loved the times when she was able to travel and visit other parts of the world.

Catherine was a member of the Women of the Moose Chapter 732 and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Catherine will be kept deep in the hearts of her children, Patricia (Robert) Weinert of West Bend, Mary Gaddis of California, Linda (Steven) Haugland of Minnesota, Cynthia (Ralph) Blair of West Bend and Michael (Cynthia) Kuepper of Allenton; her stepchildren, Albert (Sally) Tennies and Herb (Suzanne) Tennies, both of West Bend, and Irene Fechter of Newburg; dear grandchildren, Brian, Joyce, Robert, Corinne, Joseph and John; 18 step-grandchildren; brother Joseph (Olga) Weich of Texas; 32 step-great-grandchildren, three step-great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters-in-law, Ceil Strupp, Helen Acker-man and Betty (Vince) Straub, all of the West Bend area.

She also will be missed by many nieces, nephews, other very special relatives and many dear friends.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Clarence Kuepper, in 1978; her second husband, Benedict Tennies in 2004; five brothers-in-law, John, Phillip, Peter, George and Webster Tennies; sisters-in-law, one step-granddaughter, and one step-great-granddaughter.

A Mass of Christian Burial in honor of Catherine will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 8, at St. Peterís Catholic Church, 202 E. Washington St., Slinger, WI 53086, with Father Richard J. Stoffel officiating.

Visitation with family and friends also will be held on Thursday, March 8, at church only, from 4 p.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served after Mass.

Interment will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, March 9, at (old) St. Peterís Catholic Cemetery.

The family would like to extend their appreciation for memorials in lieu of flowers to Cedar Lake Health Care Center and Cedar Communities Hospice.

The Phillip Funeral Home of Slinger is assisting the family, 644-5296.

The family would also like to extend their sincere gratitude to the ladies from Gemini Helping Hands, Judy Phillips from Gericare, Dr. Mosley and his nurse, Jane Disler, and the staff of Paradise Crossings at Cedar Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center for the kind and compassionate care they gave to Catherine.
