Harry F. Schwengel

Funeral services for Harry F. Schwengel of Cedarburg will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow morning at the Lasata Care Center Chapel in Cedarburg. Harry passed away on Jan. 1, 2007 at the age of 93. The Rev. John Norquist of Faith Lutheran will officiate the service. Visitation will be held at the chapel at 10 a.m. on Friday, prior to the service. Burial will take place at Immanuel Cemetery in Cedarburg, following the funeral service. Mueller Funeral Home is making the arrangements for the family.

Harry was born on Oct. 27, 1913 in the town of Grafton. On July 31, 1943, he married Irene Wolff of Thiensville. Harry served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a farmer on his family’s Ulao farm until 1947 when he moved to Cedarburg. He then worked at the Cedarburg Nail factory and later at Formart Container and Doerr Electric. Harry was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church. He enjoyed gardening, latch hooking, bicycling and polka music.

Harry is survived by his wife Irene; his son Dr. James (Judy) Schwengel; daughter Karen (James) Borchardt; and son Dr. Robert (Louise) Schwengel. He was a special grandpa to Christy, Bill, Jennifer, Eric, Amanda Schwengel and Brenda (Jeff) Borchardt Bryl. Harry is further survived by his great-granddaughters Sierra and Skylar Bryl; his brother Roland (Delores); and many relatives and friends.

Harry was preceded in death by his twin brother Harvey; and his granddaughter Susan Schwengel.
