Edna A. Eller

Edna A. Eller, nee Funk, of West Bend, entered into eternal peace on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2007 at River Way Place surrounded by her loving family, after 94 years of life.

Edna was born on June 6, 1912, the daughter of William and Alma (nee Arndt) Funk, in the town of Polk, where she was also raised on the family farm.

She attended Lake View School until eighth grade, and then remained at home to help her family on the farm.

On Sept. 19, 1929, Edna devoted her love and her life to Alvin W. Eller in Slinger. After marriage, the couple began a loving family of their own.

After their children were raised, Edna was employed at Carbon Engineering in Slinger, Gateway Nursing Home in Hartford and Stolper Industries in Menomonee Falls, retiring in 1977.

In her free time, Edna enjoyed gardening, and was crafty with crocheting, embroidery and needle point.

She also loved animals, and enjoyed time spent watching birds.

Edna was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and its Ladies League.

She will be missed by her loving daughter, Carol (Rein) Fisch-er, and son, Glenn (Karen) Eller; her seven dear grandchildren, Steven Fischer, Sandra (Daniel) Klitzman, Darryl (Trisha) Fisch-er, Bryan (Michelle) Eller, Randy (Debra) Eller, Sheryl (Douglas) Fiedler and Matthew Eller; seven great-grandchildren, Courtney, Jonah, Justin and Annika Eller, Brittany and Allyssa Fischer, and Kristina (Joshua) Loggins; four step-great-grandchildren, Brian and Kevin Fiedler, Tim (Laurie) Klitzman, and Danielle Klitzman; three great-great-grandchildren, Kayleigh, Kendall and Jaden; two step-great-great-grandchildren, Mikayla and Alexandra; and one sister-in-law, Florence Funk.

She is further survived by other special relatives and friends.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alvin; her daughter, Marilyn, in infancy; three brothers, Albert Funk Sr., Harold (Ruth) Funk and William (Betty) Funk Jr.; and two sisters, Irene (Edwin) Gessner and Adeline (Allen) Ciriacks.

A funeral service in honor of Edna will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 10, at 7 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 777 S. Indiana Ave., West Bend, with Rev. Hein officiating.

Visitation with family and friends will be held at the church only on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7 p.m.

Interment will take place on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Union Cemetery in Slinger.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Little Lambs Day Care Center or to the family.
