Kathleen "Betty" Healy

Kathleen "Betty" Healy, 90, of Theresa died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007 at Aurora Medical Center in Hartford. She was born Sept. 12, 1916 to Arthur and Alice (nee Carroll) Kerndt in Davenport, Iowa. On May 1, 1948 she was united in marriage to Milton Healy in Rock Island, Ill. Kathleen worked at First Wisconsin Bank in Milwaukee and at Chrysler Corp. in Hartford. Kathleen is survived by her children, Terrence (Mary) Healy of Lansing, Mich., Michael (Kimberlee) Healy of Theresa and James Healy of Theresa; grandchildren, Kelly (David) Depies, Scott Healy, Christopher Fitzgerald and Amanda Fitzgerald; great-grandchildren, Reily, Zavery and Zander; and she is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milton, in 1996; a son, Charles, in 1994; a brother, Charles; and two sisters, Marie and Marjorie.

The funeral service was Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007 at Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville, with the eulogy by Terrence Healy. Burial was in Union Cemetery in Theresa. Visitation was at the funeral home prior to the service.

Mary Tekla Kranz (nee Brown) of the town of Erin passed away Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007 at the Linden Grove Nursing Home. She was 84 years old.

She was born April 26, 1922 in Chicago to Theodore and Tekla (nee Jarka) Brown. Mary married Victor Kranz on June 30, 1951 at the United Church of Christ in Oak Park, Ill.. Mary worked for Greenís Variety store in Hartford for many years. She was a member of the Hartford Senior Friends, a past Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader and past president of the Band Parents Association. Mary loved to travel to Las Vegas. She enjoyed playing poker, bingo, fishing, and sewing. Her joy in life was her grandchildren whom she loved unconditionally.

She is survived by a daughter, Kimberly (Herb) Johnson of Hartford; a son, Mark Kranz of Villa Park, Ill.; three grandchildren, Kevin (Wendy), Amy and Jennifer; and a sister-in-law, Dolores Freese of Texas. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor in 2001, her parents and her brother, Carl.

Funeral services were Sunday, Jan. 7, 2007 at Shimon Funeral Home in Hartford, with Rev. Gaylord Lemke officiating. Family greeted relatives and friends on Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment was in St. Olaf Cemetery, town of Ashippun.
