Richard T. "Dick" Wagner
Richard T. "Dick" Wagner, of West Bend, entered into eternal peace on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007 at Kathy Hospice surrounded by his loving family, after 71 years of life.
Dick was born on Oct. 29, 1935, the son of Peter J. and Erna A. (nee Kanies) Wagner, in West Bend, where he was also raised. After school, he honorably enlisted in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1957, serving in Japan for two years. On October 24, 1959, Dick devoted his love and life to Janet M. Pfister. After marriage, the couple began a loving family of their own. Dick was a dedicated employee at Amity Leather and 7Up Bottling Company. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and bowling. He was a member of the Moose Lodge of West Bend #1398 and VFW Post #384.
Dick will be deeply missed by his loving children, Paul (Margie) Wagner, Carl (Gail) Wagner, all of West Bend, and Julie (Cameron) Gardner of Black Creek; his cherished grandchildren, Emily, Amanda, Megan, and Samantha Wagner, and Caitlin, Jenna, and Jacob Gardner; and his siblings, Evelyn Kalies, Harriet (Lawrence) Leppla, Bernice "Bonnie" Voeks, Joan (Ervin) Claas, Sue Ann (Peter) Geib, Mary Snyder, Eugene (Nellie) Wagner, and Raymond (Nancy) Wagner. He will also be missed by nieces, nephews, other special relatives and friends. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Janet, of 46 years; his brothers, Robert, Peter Jr., and James; his sister and brother-in-law, Ruth (Edward) Dickman; and his brothers-in-law, Louis Kalies, Ronald Voeks and Robert Snyder.
A funeral service in honor of Dick will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007 at 6 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend, Wis. 53095), with Father Richard Wendell officiating.
Visitation with family and friends will also be held on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007 from 4 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 6 p.m. Cremation will take place at Paradise Cremation Services of West Bend, followed by an interment of ashes in spring at Holy Angels Catholic Cemetery.
