Arthur R. Breit
Arthur R. Breit, 84, of Lomira entered eternal life on Monday, Jan. 15, 2007 at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.
He was born on Aug. 23, 1922 in the Nabob area to the late Peter and Katherine (nee Heckman) Breit.
Following his marriage on June 26, 1943 to Edna Schneider at St. Mathias Catholic Church, the couple settled in West Bend.
Arthur worked at the West Bend Co. and later bought a milk route. He also worked at Bemico, but his true love was farming.
After more than 30 years on the farm, Arthur worked for the Wisconsin Gas Co.
Following his retirement, he and Edna lived in Markesan until moving to Lomira in 1999.
Arthur was a member of the St. Joseph’s Society at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in West Bend.
During the last seven years, Arthur and Edna enjoyed attending gospel music concerts by the Friesland Men’s Chorus in many different churches. Through this, they met many new Christian friends.
He will be deeply missed by his wife Edna; their children Russel (Judith) and Jan (Ron) Guse, both of West Bend; cherished grandchildren, Kimberly (Mark) Breit, Brian (Jodi) Breit, Nicole (Dan) Heisdorf and Christopher (Car-rie) Guse; beloved great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Delaney, Char-les, Max, Franklin, Cade, Lauren, Carissa and Kira.
He is further survived by his two brothers, Roman (Irene) of West Bend and Andrew of Kewaskum; two brothers-in-law, Ray Schmidt of Oconomowoc and Don (Garnet) Schneider of West Bend; a sister-in-law, Louise Marx of West Bend; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John; two sisters, Catherine Dornacker-Mueller and Virginia Schmidt; a sister-in-law, Alice Wiedmeyer; and a brother-in-law, Edward Marx.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Jan. 19 at 6 p.m. at St Mary’s Catholic Church, 699 Milwaukee St., Lomira, with Father John Schmitz presiding.
Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary’s Cemetery (new), West Bend.
The family will greet relatives and friends during a period of visitation on Friday at the church only from 4 until 5:45 p.m.
The family has requested memorials to Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac or St. Mary’s Parish, Lomira
