Harvey A. Schmidt
Harvey A. Schmidt, 83, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 26, 2007 at his residence.
Harvey was born on Oct. 7, 1923 to the late Theodore and Hulda (nee Baehring) Schmidt on the family farm in the town of Polk, where he was also raised.
He graduated from Slinger High School in 1941.
Harvey married Dorothy A. Krause on June 14, 1950 and they started a family of their own.
Besides running the family farm, Harvey set up machinery for Hays Implement in Alderly for 25 years.
He was a proud member of First Presbyterian Church of Richfield.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Dorothy; his children, Leslie Schmidt, Kathleen (Anthony) Schmidt and Annette Schmidt; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Brandon, Jason and Katie; his sister, Loraine Schoeni; and his son-in-law, Wayne Tutkowski.
He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Harvey was preceded in death by his daughters, Nancy Tut-kowski and Gloria Schmidt; and his brother-in-law, Roy Schoeni.
A funeral service to honor the life of Harvey will be on Tuesday, Jan. 30, at 7 p.m. at The Phillip Funeral Home Chapel of West Bend, 1420 W. Paradise Drive, with Rev. Donald Koehn officiating.
Interment will take place on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at The First Presbyterian Church Ceme-tery.
Visitation with family and friends will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 p.m.until the time of the funeral service at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials to The Richfield Fire Department, First Presbyterian Church or Kathy Hospice.
