Eugene T. "Gene" Wagner
Eugene T. "Gene" Wagner, Of West Bend, entered into eternal peace on Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007 at Synergy Health St. Joseph’s Hospital, after 78 years of life.
Gene was born on April 30, 1928, the son of Peter J. and Erna A. (nee Kanies) Wagner in West Bend, where he was also raised. He began work at Amity Leather at the age of 16 and continued his service there for the next 46 years. On June 16, 1956, Gene devoted his love and life to Annella A. Bauer. After marriage, the couple began a loving family of their own. Gene enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going up north, and was a proud member of the West Bend Moose Lodge #1398.
Gene will be missed by his loving wife of 50 years, Annella A. (nee Bauer) Wagner; five loving children, Charlie, Lee (Ann), and JoAnn (Danni Wallace) Wagner, Tina "Linda" (Jim) Cunningham, and Allen (Cindi) Wagner; nine grandchildren, Michael (Fiancee Jennie), Brittany, Tanya, Stacie, Winston, Heather, Ryan, Greg, and Thomas; and his siblings, Evelyn Kalies, Harriet (Lawrence) Leppla, Bernice "Bonnie" Voeks, Joan (Ervin) Claas, Sue Ann (Peter) Geib, Mary Snyder, and Raymond (Nancy) Wagner. He will also be missed by many other special relatives, and dear friends. Gene was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert, Peter Jr., James, and Richard; his sister and brother-in-law, Ruth (Edward) Dickman; and brothers-in-law, Louis Kalies, Ronald Voeks, and Robert Snyder.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007 at 1 p.m. at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (415 Roosevelt, West Bend, Wisconsin 53090), with Father Mike Moran officiating. Visitation with family and friends will also be held on Tuesday at St. Mary’s from 11 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 1 p.m. Interment will follow Mass on Tuesday at Washington County Memorial Park in West Bend.
