Arnold Matthew Lorenz
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today for Arnold Matthew Lorenz of Mequon at Lumen Christi Catholic Church, 138 W. Buntrock Road, in Thiensville.
Arnold was born to eternal life on Monday, July 2, 2007 at the age of 93.
Visitation will be held today at the church, from 9:30 a.m. until the Mass at 11 a.m.
Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Grafton. Schramka-Densow Funeral Home in Thiensville is serving the family.
Arnold, who was a mason contractor in Mequon, was noted for his fine stonework.
He was also an avid fisherman, hunter and golfer.
He played saxophone and was a charter member of the Lake-shore Symphonic Band. He also played with the Cedarburg Civic Band.
Arnold was a member of Lumen Christi Catholic Church since 1940, the year he was wed. He touched many lives and his family and friends will miss him deeply for his never-ending caring and concern as well as his always smiling face and quick wit.
Arnold was the devoted husband of Gertrude (nee Konitzer) for 66 years; the loving father of Jerry (Mary), Sue, Maxine, the late Donald, Rosanne (Don) Korin-ek and Joy; dear grandfather of James Schmechel, the late Kristina Schme-chel, Paula (Jack) Curtis, Monica Lorenz, Brad (Melissa) Korinek, Ange-la Lorenz and Leanne Korinek; great-grandfather of Melissa, Mia, Adia, Cadence and Mat-thew.
He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Arnold was preceded in death by his sister Marcella Molling; and his brothers Joseph and Jerome.
