Philip F. Meisenheimer, 91, went to meet his wife Joyce (Gonring) and share eternal joy with her on June 25, 2007 in Sunrise, Fla.
Dear Father of Tom (Pat), West Bend, Gerald (Mary) Lake Placid, Fla., Ken (Joann), Sunrise, Fla.; dear uncle of Marlyn & Dale Winter (Milwaukee area); beloved grandfather of eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Phil was born Dec. 11, 1915 and raised in Milwaukee. He worked his entire life for Cutler-Hammer (Eaton). He was a faithful and active member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Milwaukee from the early 40ís thru the mid 80ís where he served as an usher, Boy Scoutmaster, President of the Holy Name Society and many other committees. Phil was a natural athlete, excelling and being named an All-Conference football player at St. Johnís Cathedral High School, where he graduated in 1933, an avid golfer at Muskego Lakes Country Club where both he and his wife became members of the hole-in-one club, a professional bowler and an accomplished tennis player.
He and his wife retired to Kissimmee, Fla., enjoying daily golf at the Poinciana Country Club. His wife and best friend, Joyce, owned Joyceís Beauty Shoppe on 53rd & Oklahoma Avenue and preceded him in death on July 24, 2002. He spent his last years living in Sunrise, Fla. where he loved having dinner out with his family.
He relished Sunday afternoons with a beer and popcorn watching the Tampa Bay Buccaneers & Miami Dolphins.
A Mass of Christian burial was held at All Saints Catholic Church in Sunrise, Fla. on June 27. His remains and those of his wife will be buried next to his father, mother and sister at Trinity Cemetery in Milwaukee at a later date.
