A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Walter Ernisse of Grafton at 7 p.m. tomorrow evening, July 18, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1619 Washington St., in Grafton.
Walter died early Sunday morning on July 15, 2007 at his residence, at the age of 87.
Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., prior to the Mass.
Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington is serving the family.
Walter was born on Nov. 11, 1919 in Grafton, son of Peter and Catherine (nee Schumacher) Eernisse.
On June 5, 1943, he married Rose Rausch at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Saukville. Rose preceded him in death in 2005.
Walter was a furnace tender for United Foundry in Grafton and retired in 1990.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grafton and the Grafton Fire Department.
Walter is survived by his children Jean (John) Diedrich of Grafton, Leroy (Mary) of Cedarburg, Lloyd (Joyce) of New London, Jeff (Angie) of Plymouth and Dale (Kristen) of Newburg. He is further survived by 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Walter was preceded in death by his wife and 14 brothers and sisters.
