Eileen M. Hochstein

Funeral Services for Eileen M. Hochstein of Fredonia will be held at 7 p.m. Friday evening, July 20, at Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., in Port Washington, highways 33 and LL.

Eileen passed away at the VITAS Hospice center in Wauwa-tosa on Monday evening, July 16, 2007 at the age of 81

Father Richard Fleischmann will officiate the funeral service.

The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., prior to the funeral service.

The following day Eileen will be laid to rest next to her husband at Wisconsin Memorial Park.

Eileen was born in Arcadia on March 3, 1926, the daughter of Andrew and Gertrude Bill Bo-land.

On Sept. 23, 1950, she was united in marriage with Oscar Hoch-stein at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Milwaukee.

The couple owned Hochstein’s Hall, a popular tavern and dance hall located in Fredonia. In 1974, they sold the business.

Oscar preceded Eileen in death in 2004.

Eileen worked as an assembler at Leeson Electric. She also worked at Gilson Corporation and was a cook for Ozaukee High School.

Eileen was a member of Holy Rosary Parish and enjoyed playing cards, including cribbage and sheepshead. She also liked gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren and Turbo.

Eileen is survived by her children Jeff (Carol) Hochstein of Milwaukee and Kathy (Ray "Buba") Brandt of Cedarburg; grandchildren Megan (Christopher) Gonzalez, and Elizabeth and Sarah Hochstein (all of Milwaukee). She is further survived by her brother Daniel Boland of Ephrata, Wash.; her sister-in-law Hermina Boland of Winona, Minn.; her special friend Joanne Laper; and all her card-playing buddies, as well as nieces, ne-phews, other relatives and friends.

Eileen was preceded in death by her husband Oscar; her brothers Maurice, Clarence, Bernard, Joseph and David; and her sisters Luella Kothrade and Mary Ann Giddings.
