Howard J. "Howie" Voss
Howard J. "Howie" Voss, of West Bend, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at Cedar Lake Health Care Center, after 85 years of life.
Howie was born on Aug. 5, 1921 to the late Herman E. and Marie A. (nee Wiechers) Voss.
He loved being outdoors and tending to his beautiful flower gardens, and also enjoyed fishing in Eagle River.
One of Howie’s favorite pastimes was woodworking with maple wood, making birdhouses, walking canes and cabinets. He donated many of his birdhouses to Holy Angels and other organizations.
In his younger years, he loved spending time riding his Harleys.
Howie will be missed and forever loved by his siblings, Joseph Voss, Charles (Elvera) Voss and Helen Schneider, all of West Bend; and his nieces and nephews, Barbara Schneider (friend Randy Maastricht), De-nise (John) Kenworthy, Thomas (Jillian) Lippert, Michael Voss, Stephen (Katie) Voss, Thomas (Kathy) Voss and Janean Voss.
He will also be missed by many great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a nephew, Joseph Schneider; and his pride and joy, his Dachshund, Fritz.
Visitation with family and friends will be held on Saturday, July 28, from 10 a.m. until noon at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 138 N. Eighth Ave., West Bend.
A funeral service in honor of Howie will be held on Saturday at Holy Angels at noon, with Father Rick Wendell officiating.
Interment in Holy Angels Cemetery will follow the Mass.
