Loretta V. Bastian
Loretta V. Bastian, nee Vogelsang, 92 of West Bend died Friday, July 13, 2007 at Mapledale Manor in Kewaskum.
She was born April 9, 1915 in Chicago to the late Ernest and Mary (nee Weber) Vogelsang, and married Jacob W. Bastian on Sept. 9, 1933 in Milwaukee.
Jacob preceded her in death on May 23, 1999.
Loretta’s family moved to Nabob when she was 15.
After her marriage to Jacob, the couple settled in West Bend where she worked at the West Bend Co. from 1943 until retiring in 1970 due to a disability.
She enjoyed playing cards and reading and was very family oriented.
Loretta was a member of the West Bend Co. 25-Year Club.
Survivors include her six children: Carol Feypel of Ackworth, Ga., Marlene (Martin) Laufer of New Berlin, Mary Ellen (Kenneth) Knoebel of Green Bay, Barbara Becker, Gale Mayer and Jacob Jr., all of West Bend; 15 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Loretta is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Loretta was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Jacob; her parents; two brothers; two sisters; two grandsons, Russel and Kevin Laufer; a great-granddaughter, Sara Laufer; and a son-in-law, John Becker.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, July 30, at 11 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Rev. Richard Wendell presiding.
Burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.
Visitation will be Monday, at the church only from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Holy Angels Church, the Holy Angels School Trust Fund or the charity of the donor’s choice are appreciated.
