Peter Wenninger of West Bend entered into eternal peace on Thursday, July 26, 2007 at Samaritan Healthcare Center at the age of 79.
Peter was born on July 13, 1928 to Peter J. and Marina A. (nee Esser) Wennin-ger in Nabob. He honorably served his country with the United States Army during the Korean War as Corporal. Upon his return, he married Delores L. Peters on May 15, 1954, and began a loving family of their own. Peter was a dedicated employee of West Bend Sand and Stone for 10 years, and then Ready Mix for 35 years, where he was able to retire. He was also the supervisor for the town of West Bend for 18 years, was a member of Fohl Martin Post 483 American Legion, and the Nabob Prairie Riders Snowmobile Club. During his free time, Peter enjoyed fishing, hunting, and most of all, spending quality time with his grandchildren.
He will be missed by his loving wife and best friend of 53 years, Delores (nee Peters) Wenninger; his children, Daniel Wenninger of Littleton, Colo., Thomas (Mi-chelle) Wenninger of Beaver Dam, Karen (Terry) Wentz of West Bend, Dennis Wenninger of West Bend, and Gail (John) Steffen of Osceola; his 10 grandchildren, Cody, Nicole, Kristina, Kayla, Ashley, Rachel, LaSarah, Maria, Peter, and Elizabeth; his great-grandson, Lucas; and his two sisters, Helen Brodzeller and Margie Wenninger. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, special neighbor, Maggie; other special relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Bernard; parents, Peter and Marina; and eight siblings, Marie, Jim, Susie, Bruno, Rita, Mary Ann, and twins, Helen and John.
A gathering of family and friends will take place on Monday, July 30, 2007 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church (138 N. 8th Ave., West Bend, WI 53095). A Mass of Christian Burial will also be held on Monday at Holy Angels at 3 p.m. with Father Rick Wendell officiating. Interment will take place at Holy Angels Cemetery on Monday following the Mass of Christian Burial.
The Wenninger Family would like to extend their appreciation to the nursing staff at Samaritan Healthcare Center for all the personal and extra quality time spent with dad and also to Synergy Health St. Joseph’s Hospital and clinic and all of their healthcare professionals.
