Funeral services for Gilbert Liebenstein of Cedarburg will be held at 6 p.m. tomorrow evening, Aug. 1, at First Immanuel Lutheran Church, W67 N622 Evergreen Blvd., in Cedarburg.
Gilbert died at the Lasata Care Center on Sunday, July 29, 2007 at the age of 94.
The Rev. Randy Raasch will officiate the funeral service.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the church on Wednesday, prior to the service.
Burial will take place at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 2, at Zion United Methodist Cemetery in Bata-via.
Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg is serving the family.
Gilbert was born on Jan. 2, 1913 in the town of Batavia, Sheboygan County, son of George and Edessa Liebenstein.
He attended grade school in Batavia and graduated from Plymouth High School.
On June 12, 1937, Gilbert was united in marriage to Marguerite Wilkowske in Milwaukee.
Gilbert is survived by his best friend Lorraine Bublitz; his two sons and their wives Lowell (Arlene) of Grafton and Neal (Marie) of Eagle River; his grandchildren Troy (friend Lori) Lie-benstein of Grafton, Carrie (Ko-by) Scheel of Grafton, Todd (friend Carol) Liebenstein of Eagle River, Debbie (John) Cappelli of Hustisford and Craig (Lisa) Liebenstein of Cedarburg; and his great-grandchildren Nichole Liebenstein, Brennan, Kenton and Cameron Scheel, and Nicholas and Jacob Liebenstein.
He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Gilbert was preceded in death by his wife Marguerite and his sister Lucille.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Music Ministry of First Immanuel Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
