Louise Jeannette Hoy

Louise Jeannette Hoy, 94, of Mayville died Thursday, May 31, 2007, at the Mossflower Harbour in Mayville.

She was born Aug. 12, 1912 in Auburn, Pa. to John and Eliza-beth (Ebling) Fahl.

Louise married Herman R. Hoy.

A memorial serivce will be held at 6 p.m., Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mayville. Bishop George Carlson and Rev. Geoffrey Hoy will officiate.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at the church.

Interment will be held at a later date in Auburn, Pa.

Louise graduated valedictorian from Schuykill, Pa. High School.

She continued her education at Blockley School of Nursing at Philadelphia General Hospital, graduating in 1933.

After many years, she received her bachelor’s of science degree in nursing from Marquette Uni-versity in 1963.

Louise was employed as an R.N. at St. Joseph’s Community Hospital of West Bend and Mil-waukee County General Hos-pital, with the Visiting Nurse Association in Milwaukee and was the West Bend city nurse.

She was a current member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mayville and a former member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, serving on the church council.

She also was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in West Bend, participating in choir and teaching Sunday School.

Attending Women’s Week at Pine Lake Camp and serving on the LCW State Board as the chairperson of the literacy program were other church interests.

In her lifetime, Louise knitted hundreds of afghans for Lutheran World Relief.

She is survived by three children, Virginia (Bruce) Anderle of Cedarburg, Rev. Daniel Hoy (Rev. Mary Kenosian) of Eau Claire and Rev. Geoffrey (Dottie) Hoy of Mayville; seven grandchildren, Lynn Anderle Rettler, Mequon, Laura Anderle-Smith (Robb Smith), New Berlin, Michele An-derle Brown (Joe Brown), Brook-field, Michael (Michelle) Anderle, Madison, Sarah Marsden (Mike O’Dell), Salt Lake City, Utah, Mark Hoy and Thomas Hoy, Eau Claire; eight great-grandchildren, Hanna and Spencer Rettler, Sam-uel, Alexander and Simon Brown, Gabriel and Isabelle Smith and Elizabeth Faith Marsden; many other relatives and friends for whom she was a mentor, model and gentle spirit.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Kris-tine Marsden (K. Gerald); one grandson, David Marsden (Sonya Harmeyer); three sisters and one brother.

The family extends its special thanks and gratitude to the staff at Mossflower Harbour Ltd. and Vitas Hospice Service.
