John M. Skowbo, 90

John M. Skowbo of Grafton passed away at Cedar Gardens in Cedarburg on Sunday afternoon, May 27, 2007. He was 90 years old.

John was born on April 19, 1917 in Emmetsburg, Iowa, son of Arthur and Nancy Reiken Skowbo. After attending the University of Iowa, John enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during World War II. On Nov. 16, 1941, he was united in marriage to Mabel Luedtke in Marble Head, Mass. Mabel preceded him in death on Oct. 14, 1998.

John worked as a tool engineer for Kickhaefer Manufacturing Company in Grafton and retired in 1982. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his earlier years and was a person of religious faith.

John is survived by his son Philip (Susan) Skowbo of Port Washington; his granddaughters Betsy (Michael) Ketter of Brookfield and Joan (Thomas) Treba of Wausau; and his sister-in-law Alice Luedtke of Iowa. He is further survived by nieces and nephews along with other relatives and friends.

At Johnís request, no funeral services will be held. His cremated remains will be buried at sea in the Atlantic Ocean. Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington is assisting the family with the arrangements. Online condolences can be left at www.eernissefuneralhome.com.
