Virginia Mary Galligan

Virginia Mary Galligan, nee Long, 85, of the town of Osceola passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at Grancare Nursing and Rehab Center in Fond du Lac.

She was born on Jan. 23, 1922 in Oconomowoc, the daughter of Leo and Daisy (nee Furlong) Long.

In 1930 she moved to her grandparents’ house on the corner of Highways 67 and SS.

On Oct. 25, 1941, she married Donald F. Galligan at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Dundee.

Before her marriage, Virginia cleaned houses, and after her marriage she did farming and raised her family.

Virginia loved her family and spending time with them, going to the many school and church programs of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She enjoyed cooking, various television programs, her favorite being Lawrence Welk, and playing Yatze.

Virginia was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Dundee.

Survivors include her daughters, Beverly (Bruce) Falk of Kewaskum, Carol (Don) Butz of Fond du Lac, Betty (George) Seibel of St. Cloud and Linda (Tom) Campagna of Campbells-port; her sons, Donald Jr. (fiancŽe Donna Yench), James (Kathy), John (special friend Nancy Johnstone), Larry (Patty), Ralph, George (Lori) and Herb (Teri), all of Campbellsport, Robert (Gayle) and William (Joyce), both of Eden; her grandchildren, Tim (Patti), Mark (Connie), Kevin (Toni), Dan, Kayla, Troy, Saman-tha, Will, Joey (Mandy), Brittany, Ashleigh, Kim, Ryan, Sarah, Callie, Carrissa, Caleb, Katie, Cody and Kyle Galligan, Debbie Phillips, Lora (Richard) Weste-meier, Jenelle (Tony) Wiesner, Becky Freeman, Brenda Falk, Dolly Butz, Bobbi Jo (Damon) Phillips, Crystal (Cory) Sabish, Tammy (John) Burns, Heather (David) Cottrell, Dawn (Jason) Wolf, Shanna (Matt) Stuht, Melissa (Patrick) Lorrigan, Tra-vis, Mike and Michele Campagna and Stacy (Dan) Cappazzo; her step-grandchildren, Shannon Pat-terson, Tom Ballard, Hedda (Chuck) Rantzow and Tanya Berg; 36 great-grandchildren and two due in September; 11 step-great-grandchildren; her sister, Gloria Scheid Liepert of Kewaskum; her sisters-in-law, Donna Galligan, Ruth Long and JoAnn Galligan of Eden, Doris (Bob) Way and Ginny (Melvin) Stoffel of Campbells-port; her brothers-in-law, Edward Galligan of Eden, James (Jackie) Galligan of Arizona and Charles Varga of Janesville; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald, on Sept. 20, 2004; two children, Frederick and Judy; a grandson, Nicholas Galligan; a great-grandson, Wyatt Galligan; a brother, Leo Long; sisters-in-law, Mabel Wehner Varga, Laura Galligan and Patsy Galligan; brothers-in-law, Levi Galligan, Orville Galligan, Roy Galligan, Marvin Galligan, Herb Wehner, Wayne Scheid and Elton Liepert; and a niece, Sue Majerus.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 9, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Dundee.

Rev. Richard Schliewe will officiate, and burial will follow in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Twohig Funeral Home in Campbellsport and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church.

Memorials are appreciated to Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church or Waucousta Lutheran Grade School.
