Edmund F. Hartmann
Edmund F. Hartmann of West Bend died on Thursday, June 7, 2007 at Kathy Hospice in the town of Polk at the age of 89 years.
He was born on May 2, 1918 in the town of Addison to the late Emil and Cathierne (nee Schellinger) Hartmann.
On Nov. 9, 1946, he was united in marriage to Anita M. Mueller at St. Lawrence Church in St. Lawrence.
Edmund was a lifelong farmer in the town of Addison who enjoyed his work. Even after moving to West Bend in 1986, he never fully retired from farming. In addition to spending time with his family, he enjoyed playing sheepshead and tending to his vegetable garden. He was a former member of the Holy Name Society at Ss. Peter and Paul Church in Nenno.
Survivors include his wife Anita of West Bend; five children, Patricia of West Bend, Marlene (Lawrence) DeMarino of Tuscon, Ariz., Kenneth of Oceanside, Calif., Rita (Harold) Severance of Sheboygan and James (Kimberly) of Allenton; five grandchildren Christina Bennett, Melissa and Andrea DeMarino and Matthew and Jennifer Hartmann; a brother, Roman of Kewaskum; a sister, Priscilla (Cyril) Westerman of West Bend; two brothers-in-law, Elmer Mueller of Hartford and Frederick Mueller of Slinger; four sisters-in-law, Ruth Striegel of Slinger, Carmen Dais of Hartford, Marion (Robert) Kiefer of West Bend and Joyce (Ambrose) Wiedmeyer of Hartford; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Norbert, and a sister Arlene Mueller, three brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 12 at 7 p.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Fr. Gerald Brittain presiding.
Burial will be Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Nenno. The family will greet relatives and friends during a period of visitation at the church only on Tuesday from 4 until 6:45 p.m.
The Schmidt Funeral Home of West Bend is serving the family.
