Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Elmer F. Phillip on Sept. 3, 1987; and one brother and sister-in-law, Clarence "Stormy" and Marie (nee Glass) Weis.
Lorraine was born on May 27, 1909, the daughter of Aloisius and Hedwig (nee Schuenemann) Weis, in Milwaukee, where she was also raised.
On March 28, 1930, she devoted her love and her life to Elmer F. Phillip, and the couple began a family of their own with the birth of their son, Jean.
Lorraine will be remembered for being a loving mother, wife, grandmother, "Granny," and friend.
Whenever you would go visit her, she would make sure you were fed a sandwich, milk and plenty of cookies.
She loved spending time during the holidays with her family, watching her grandchildren laugh and the little ones play.
During those times she most enjoyed, you could always count on her for her teasing, little smile and her big "Granny" hug.
She was a member of the Electra Chapter 75 Order of the Eastern Star and Jackson Park Lutheran Church.
A funeral service in memory of Lorraine will be held on Wednesday, June 13, at 1 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend, with Rev. Victor Hackbarth officiating.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m.
Interment will take place in Arlington Park Cemetery in Milwaukee.
The Phillip family would like to extend their sincere appreciation and gratitude for all the care and support offered by Dr. Gary Herdrich and his nurses; and also to the staff of the fourth floor at the Samaritan Health Center for their compassion and nursing professionalism over the years.
