Kenneth R. "Ken" MacFarlane
Kenneth R. "Ken" MacFarlane, of Hazelhurst, formerly of West Bend, entered into eternal peace on Friday, June 8, 2007 at his residence, after 74 years of life.
Ken was born on Nov. 17, 1932 in West Bend, to George J. and Sylvia (nee McCaully) MacFarlane.
He was raised in West Bend, and attended West Bend High School.
On Aug. 9, 1952, he married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Betty J. Sonnenberg.
Ken honorably served his country with the United States Navy.
Upon his return, he worked various jobs, and then began MacFarlane Construction.
Ken lived on Big Cedar Lake for years, until he moved to Hazelhurst.
Among his favorite pastimes, Ken loved hunting, fishing, golfing, spending time in the outdoors and at his place in Arizona.
Above all, he loved spending time with his family and his dogs, Buster and Josey.
Survivors include his loving son, Wesley (Karen) MacFarlane of West Bend; his loving daughter, Vickie (Gerald) Miller of Antigo; daughter-in-law, Deb MacFarlane of West Bend; his cherished grandchildren, Adam Miller (fianceŽ Heather Schroepfer) of Antigo, Shannon MacFarlane of Illinois, Ryan Miller of Antigo, Brady MacFarlane of West Bend, Quentin MacFarlane of West Bend and Meghan MacFarlane of West Bend; and sisters-in-law, Annette MacFarlane of Almond, Frances "Fritzie" MacFarlane of Green Bay, Dorothy Petri and Dolores Heppe, both of West Bend.
He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Betty; his loving son, Kenneth; a sister, Marguerite Ebert; brothers, Delmer and Keith; and brothers-in-law, Roy Ebert, Gordon "Gus" Sonnenberg and Gerald Sonnenberg.
Private funeral services were held to honor Ken’s wishes.
Interment will take place in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.
