Gladys Louise Neuberger

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Aug. 11 at St. Johnís Lutheran Church in West Bend for Gladys Louise Neuberger of Eugene, Ore., who died on May 30, 2007 of age-related causes.

Following the service there will be a gathering for friends and family at a site to be determined.

Gladys was born in West Bend on April 20, 1924 to William and Hilda Baumgartner and was raised in the town of Wayne.

She graduated from Kewas-kum High School in 1942.

Gladys married Arnold Schoenbeck on July 17, 1943, in West Bend. He passed away in 1947.

She married Raymond Neu-berger on Oct. 20, 1962 in Milwaukee, and the couple lived in West Bend until moving to Arizona.

Gladys was Kewaskumís first high school secretary and later became the administrative assistant to the West Bend superintendent of schools.

Her last job in the area was as an administrative assistant to St. Josephís Community Hospitalís administrator.

Gladys and Ray spent years living in Arizona and California, finally settling in Sun City. Ray died there in September, 2003.

Survivors include a daughter, Ann Feitas and her husband, Johnny, of Maui, Hawaii; a son, Frank Schoenbeck and his wife, Kristi Egre, of Eugene; a stepson, Tom Neuberger and his wife, Kathy, of Cerritos, Calif.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held June 9 at Our Saviorís Lutheran Church in Eugene.
