Jerome P. "Jerry" Faust

Jerome P. "Jerry" Faust of Hartford, formerly of Slinger was welcomed Home by his Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 23, 2007 at Hartford Care Center, after 91 years of life.

Jerry was born on March 4, 1916 in Neosho, where he was also raised by his loving parents, Frank and Clara (nee Lackas) Faust. He attended and graduated from Hartford High School.

On Jan. 21, 1939, he committed his love and life to Gladys Blum in Slinger.

After marriage the couple resided in the Slinger area where they began a loving family of their own, and Jerry became an active member in the community.

He was a dedicated employee of Gundrum Oil as a bookkeeper, where he honorably retired from. Jerry was a member of Slinger Fire Department, a member of the Slinger School Board for 38 years, he was a dedicated member of County Board for 16 years, was a member of the Hartford Senior Citizens Board Knights of Columbus and the Wisconsin Coalition of Aging.

In his free time, Jerry loved to play cards.

He is survived by his daughters, Karen Hanrahan of Hartford and Mary (Rick) Meyer of Hartford; his daughter-in-law, JaLayne Faust of Menomonee Falls; his grandchildren, Cindi (John) Borosch, Laura Faust, Michael (Michelle) Faust, Chris (Brian) OíConnell, Scott (Corey) Hanrahan, Deb Polzin, David (Julie) Hanrahan, Jeff (Kelyn) Meyer, Richelle Meyer, Jennifer (Jeff) Schuppie, and Shannon (Bill) Smith; his great-grandchildren, Adam, Hans, Megan, Patrick, Eric, Rachel, Josh, Mekenzie, Claire, Lauren, Jensen, Justin, Jacob, Jack, Grace, Matthew, Ethan, and Emma; his brother, Joe Faust of Hartford; and his sister, Lorraine MacPherson of Hartford.

He will also be missed by nieces, nephews, other special relatives and friends and was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Wayne; wife, Gladys in 1984; grandson, Michael Hanrahan; son-in-law, Edward Hanrahan; sister-in-law, Dorothy Faust; and brother-in-law, George MacPherson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, June 28, 2007 at 7 p.m. at St. Peterís Catholic Church, 202 E. Washington St., Slinger, with Father Richard J. Stoffel officiating. Visitation with family and friends will also be at the church Thursday from 5 p.m. to the time of the Mass. Interment will take place on Friday, June 29, 2007 at 10 a.m. at St. Peterís Catholic Cemetery (located behind church).

The family would greatly appreciate memorials donated to the Slinger Fire Department.
