Ann Marie Steier Lobenstein
Ann Marie (Wuest) Steier Lobenstein, age 82, of West Bend and formerly of Tomah, died Friday, March 2, 2007 at St. Joseph Hospital in West Bend. She was born in the town of Forest, Fond du Lac County, to William and Margaret (Olig) Wuest on Sept. 19, 1924. She married Joseph Steier, Sr. on Nov. 11, 1943 at St. Michael's Catholic Church at Dotyville. To this union, four children were born. She was preceded in death by her first husband on Jan. 8, 1974. On July 28, 1979 she married Conrad Lobenstein at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Bend. She was employed at Tecumseh Power Products in Grafton for 27 years as a machinist. After her marriage to Conrad, she moved to Tomah. She was employed by the Tomah School District for 15 years. She was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Tomah and a member of the Parish Council of Catholic Women and St. Catherine's Guild. She also was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
She is survived by her husband Conrad of West Bend; four children, Gerald (Ellen) Steier, James (Barbara) Steier and Jo Ann (Oscar) Beishier, all of West Bend, and Joseph (Jean) Steier Jr. of Kewaskum; 11 grandchildren, Laurie (Jeff) Seidensticker of West Bend, Diane (Ron) O'Meara of Madison, Michael (Michelle) Beisbier of Iron Ridge, Steve (Angie) Beisbier of Allenton, Ann Marie Steier (fiancˇ Chris Friemel), Mark (Tracey) Steier, Jeff Steier (friend Joanne), Joe Steier III, Jed (Danielle) Steier, all of West Bend, Jeanine (Jay) Schabel, of Iron Ridge, Jason (Amy) Steier of Kewaskum; 15 great-grandchildren, Brady and Macey Steier, Honoria, Harley and Hayden Schabel, Owen Bennette, Gabriell Seidensticker, Zachary and Kathlyn O'Meara, Adrian, Alena, Alivia, Payton and Griffin Beisbier, two future great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Ruth Hamm, and one brother, Norman Wuest, both of Fond du Lac, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Steier Sr.; her parents; a sister, La Vina Povonka; a brother, Ambrose Wuest; two sisters-in-law, Delores Wuest and Aarabelle Wuest; two brothers-in-law, Delroy Povonka and Ray Hamm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday evening, March 6, 2007 at 6 p.m. at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 315 W. Monroe St., Tomah. The Very Rev. Steven J. Kachel will officiate. Family and friends are invited to call at the church on Tuesday from 4 until 6 p.m. The parish rosary will be recited by the Parish Council of Catholic Women at 4 p.m. Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree Honor Guard will be present until conclusion of the Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Fond du Lac. The Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home in Tomah is assisting the family.
