Genevieve M. Wiedmeyer

Genevieve M. Wiedmeyer, nee Peters, of Allenton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 surrounded by her family at Agnesian Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac, after 78 years of life.

Genevieve was born on July 19, 1928, the daughter of Henry M. and Theresa (nee Melder) Peters, in the town of Polk, where she was also raised.

On Oct. 3, 1950, she married Gregory G. Wiedmeyer at Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend.

After marriage, the couple began a family of their own, residing on the family farm in the town of Addison.

Among her favorite pastimes, Genevieve enjoyed visiting the Amish country and those who were sick, gardening, cooking, baking, and above all, spending time with her family.

She was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church Human Concerns.

Genevieve will be missed by her children, Arlene (Mark) Gundrum of West Bend, Marilyn (David) Petri of West Bend, Dennis (Marg) Wiedmeyer of Hartford, Ralph (Cheryl) Wiedmeyer of Hartford, Ruth (Robert) Hall of Fond du Lac, Joseph Wiedmeyer of Allenton, Agnes (Robert) Lee of Hartford, Herbert Wiedmeyer of Allenton and Janice (Charles) Brace of Allenton; her 22 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Dorothy Baumann of Colville, Wash., Donald (Harriet) Peters of Theresa, Lillian (Anthony) Ritger of Allenton, Alois (Edna) Peters of West Bend, Francis (Rita) Peters of West Bend and Henrietta (Joseph) Schnitzler of Theresa.

She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, other very special relatives and many dear friends.

Genevieve was greeted at the gates of heaven by her parents; her husband, Gregory G. Wied-meyer, who passed away on Dec. 4, 1996; an infant granddaughter, Kathy Hall; two brothers, Ray-mond and Edmund Peters; a sister, Marie Wiedmeyer; and her brothers-in-law, Edward Wied-meyer and Norbert Baumann.

Visitation with family and friends will be held at Resurrec-tion Catholic Church, 215 Main St., Allenton, on Friday, March 9, starting at 2:30 p.m. and concluding at 6 p.m.

Visitation will continue at the church on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial in honor of Genevieve will be held at 11 a.m. at Resurrection Catholic Church, with Father Richard J. Stoffel officiating.

Interment in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Nenno, will follow the Mass.
