Charles S. Geiger Sr.

Charles S. Geiger Sr., of West Bend, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 23, 2007 at Samaritan Health Care Center at the age of 96. He was born on July 18, 1910 in Chicago to the late Joseph and Mary Geiger (nee Massoth).

He was born and raised in Chicago and graduated from Loyola Academy in Chicago, class of 1928. He married Thelma A. Johnson on February 11, 1935 in Peoria, Ill. Charles was the former owner of Geiger Bros. Foods in Chicago, Jackson Creamery, Kewaskum Dairy, Geiger Ford Dealership in West Bend and retired as a part-time Realtor.

Charles was a longtime member of the West Bend Country Club, West Bend Rotary Club and Holy Angels Catholic Church. He was the first president of Jackson Businessmenís Association.

He is survived by three loving children; Barbara (Harry) Desmond of Mequon, Dr. Charles Jr. (Anne-Lee) Geiger of West Bend, Susanne (Thomas) Holsen of Mequon; 12 grandchildren, Susanne (Timothy) Nettesheim, Margaret (John) Slattery, Stephen (Margaret) Desmond, Charles (Jean) Desmond, Kathleen (Raymond) Hoffman, Patricia (Joseph) Steigerwald, John (Michele) Geiger, Robert (Jennifer) Geiger, Joseph (Amy) Geiger, Jeanne (Patrick) Flesch, Peter (Molly) Holsen, and Christopher Holsen; and 24 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, brothers Joseph and Edward, and sisters Gertrude and Florence.

The Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 26 at 11 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend with Father Gerald Brittain officiating. Interment will take place at Washington County Memorial Park.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Monday, March 26 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m., also at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to Holy Angels Catholic Church or the charity of your choice.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers and staff of The Samaritan Health Care Center, especially the first floor.
