Esther Auer, 99 years of DeKalb, Texas, formerly of the town of Saukville, died Wednes-day, March 21, 2007 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in DeKalb, Texas.
She was born Sept. 8, 1907 in Mayville, daughter of Fredrich and Martha Arndt Schweppe.
She attended St. Johnís Lutheran Church in Mayville and graduated from Mayville Normal School. She taught in a one-room school in the area. On Sept. 2, 1927 she married Alois Auer in Waukegan, Ill. He preceded her in death in 1965. Mrs. Auer was employed for many years at Alstonís Department Store in West Bend.
She is survived by one daughter, Lynn (John) Davies of DeKalb, Texas, a daughter-in-law Esther L. (the late Lloyd "Stu") Auer of the town of Saukville, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son Lloyd "Stu" Auer, one daughter Lois Amble, two sisters Erna Schweppe and Elfrieda Allan, and one brother, Frederich Schweppe.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 27, at 10:30 a.m. at Graceland Cemetery in Mayville with pastor Jim Mallmann of St. Johnís Lutheran Church in Mayville officiating.
The Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
