Alex Edward Beck

Alex Edward Beck, 82, of Horicon, died on Monday, March 26, 2007 at the Mayville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born March 20, 1925 in Fond du Lac County to Jacob and Rose (nee Welsch) Beck, and married Frances Schommer on June 12, 1948 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Kewaskum.

He was a lifelong farmer in the town of Hubbard, retiring in March of 1990.

Alex was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Woodland.

He enjoyed playing cards and being a member of the Iron Ridge Golden Youth and a member of the Mayville Senior Citizen Center.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Frances; four children, Kathleen (Kenneth) Eckert of Watertown, John (Elizabeth) Beck, James (Joan) Beck and Joseph (Cheryl) Beck, all of Iron Ridge; his grandchildren, Keith Eckert, Kimberly (Gerald) Semrau, Kevin (Kristine) Eckert, Kenneth C. (Beth) Eckert, Jacob Beck, Kelly Beck, Paul Beck, Martha Beck, Jason (Jill) Beck, Benjamin Beck, Clara Beck, Anna Beck, Philip Beck and Ashley Beck; great-grandchildren, Noah, Adam, Faith, Erin, Heidi, Rac-hael and Emily; two sisters, Donna (Robert) Anderson of Wausau and Dorothy (Manny) Batzler of LeRoy; nieces; nep-hews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Rolland and Leo; and a grandson, Jeremy

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 29, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Woodland.

Father Al Van Beek and Dea-con Robert Anderson will officiate, and burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Woodland.

Visitation at the church will be on Thursday from 9:30 until 11:30 a.m.

The Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville, is serving the family.

The Beck family would like to thank the Beaver Dam Communi-ty Hospital, Mayville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and KJM Home Health Care for all the loving care that they gave to Alex during his illness.
