Betty Mae Schickert

Betty Mae Schickert (nee Collett) of the town of Herman passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2007 at her residence after a long illness. She was 78 years old.

She was born Oct. 22, 1928 in Rhinelander to the late Clyde and Anna (nee Hoppon) Collett. She married Jerry Schickert on May 9, 1953 at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Hartford.

Betty was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. She loved gardening, in particular her potatoes.

Betty also enjoyed crocheting, some fishing, painting by numbers and baking cookies.

She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years Jerry; her children, Sue M. Schickert of West Bend, Diana (David) Rosbeck of Allenton, Bonnie Schickert (Special Friend Tom) of Horicon, Jeff Schickert (Special Friend Sandy) of Iron Ridge, Ray (Janet) Schickert of Hartford; six grandchildren, Sheila Warriner, Courtney Krapfl, Dana Rosbeck, Kyle Rosbeck, Cindy Forsberg and Adam Forsberg; her sister Elayne Hefter of West Bend, Carol (Paul) Wolff Sr. of Hartford, Peggy (Doyle) Anderson of Riverside, CA; her brother-in-law Joe Faust of Hartford.

She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, Belinda and Herbert Held and Raymond Schickert; two sisters, Shirley (Gene) Simpson and Dorothy Faust; a brother-in-law, Joe Hefter; a niece, Cheryl Dietenberger; and a nephew, Steve Hefter.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Betty was Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, St. Lawrence, with Fr. Joseph Dominic officiating.

Family greeted relatives and friends on Monday at Shimon Funeral Home in Hartford, with an evening prayer vigil.

Interment was at St. Lawrence Cemetery, St. Lawrence.

Shimon Funeral Home assisted the family.
