Evelyn J. "Evie" Ellis
Evelyn J. "Evie" Ellis of Mequon passed away on April 27, 2007 at the age of 80.
Evelyn was born in Michigan but came to Wisconsin after a little bit of traveling.
Evelyn was loved by many people as she loved them. She would share her love amongst the people of the United Methodist Church of Mequon. Evelyn loved to sing in the ladies choir and visit the elderly and handicapped members of the parish.
There were other things that she liked to do besides visiting her church. She like to bake, garden and watch the wildlife outdoors. She especially liked to watch the squirrels.
Evelyn, as you can tell, was a people person. She would like to entertain people by having them over and cooking for them.
She had such a big heart that Evelyn would go out and buy little things and give them to people for gifts of no reason. She just wanted everyone to know that she was thinking about them.
Evelyn is survived by Robert, her loving husband for 55 years. Other survivors include her children, Joy (Robert) Kuhaupt, Robert Jr. (Laura), Bruce (Shelli) and Tom (Carrie); as well as 12 very special grandchildren; one special granddaughter-in-law; and one great-grandchild. She is further survived by her brother, John (Betty) Stamm of Kalamazoo, Mich., as well as nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 2, at Mequon United Methodist Church, 11011 N. Oriole Lane.
This will be followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m.
Since our mother has always said, "I always wanted to enjoy the flowers while I am alive," we would request that no flowers be sent and that all memorials be sent to Kathy’s House, www.kathys-house.org.
