Ruben W. Kind

Ruben W. Kind, 91, of West Bend, was born to eternal rest on Friday May 4, 2007 at his home after a short battle with cancer.

He was born on April 8, 1916 in Columbus to the late Herman and Ida (nee Moersfelder) Kind. At a young age Ruben moved with his family to West Bend, and he graduated from West Bend High School in 1933.

Ruben learned photography and opened his own studio in West Bend.

On April 27, 1941 he was united in marriage to Ella Oelhafen at St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church, West Bend.

In 1943 Ruben answered the call to serve his country and served in the United States Navy during World War II.

After the war he returned to West Bend and the Kind Studio, which he operated until 1965.

He then worked at the West Bend Co. until his retirement in 1981.

His wife, Ella, preceded him in death in 1999.

Ruben was a member of St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church.

He enjoyed his family and fishing.

He will be sadly missed by his devoted son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Evea Kind of West Bend; his daughter and son-in-law, Carole and Roman Breit of Franklin; and his loving granddaughter, Cindy (Roger) Skibinski and her family of Oak Creek.

He is also survived by Richard Kind of West Bend; his caring granddaughter, Tracy Kind-Morales; a sister-in-law, Minnie Justman of West Bend; other relatives and friends.

Cremation took place at Myrhum-Patten Funeral and Cremation Service, West Bend, and burial of his cremated remains will be in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

A memorial service for Rubenís family and friends will be held at a future date.
