Gordon W. Butz

Gordon W. Butz of Winter Haven, Fla., formerly of Fond du Lac, was welcomed home by the Lord on Wednesday, May 2, 2007 after 87 full years of life.

He was born in St. Cloud, Wis., on Jan. 1, 1920 to Frank and Amanda Butz.

After his marriage to Iola Boehnlein on June 5, 1939, Gordon and Iola settled on a farm in Mt. Calvary where they lived until 1962.

In 1962 they relocated to West Bend and he purchased the Clothes Clinic Dry Cleaners in partnership with his brother, Jerry.

He owned and operated the Clothes Clinic until his retirement in 1981.

His beloved wife, Iola preceded him in death in 2002.

Gordon will be sadly missed by his children, Wayne (Kathy) of Mauston, Lois (Robert) Seiden-sticker of West Bend and Linda (Rick) Doll of West Bend.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Joan and son-in-law, James Welker of New Holstein.

He is also survived by four brothers, Fran (Ellie) of Cocoa Beach, Fla., Ken (Sylvia) of Naples, Fla., Roy (Roseann) of Fond du Lac and Gerald (Karen) of West Bend; a sister, Donna Mae (Al) Frank of Fond du Lac; and a sister-in-law, Joy Butz of Green Bay.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Don, and his sister, Olive.

He is further survived by 12 grandchildren, Kelly (Steve) Krummel of De Pere, Greg Butz of Denver, Colo., Keith (Barb) Welker of West Bend, Ken (Leanne) Welker of Green Bay, Ann (Randy) Meyer of New Holstein, Jeff (Laura) Seidensticker of West Bend, Jim (Amy) Seidensticker of Las Vegas, Nev., Sara (Scott) Huntington of West Bend, Joshua (Rianna) Doll of West Bend, Michael Doll of West Bend, Meghan Doll of Madison and Lindsay Doll of West Bend; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Steve Butz of Madison.

A funeral service in honor of Gordon will be held on Saturday, May 12, at 11 a.m. at Holy Angels Church, 138 N. Eighth Ave., West Bend.

Family and friends are welcomed to visit at Holy Angels Church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Holy Angels School Trust Fund or a charity of the donorís choice.
