Norman Robert "Pete" Grover
Norman Robert "Pete" Grover, 71, of Evansville, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2007 at HospiceCare in Fitchburg.
He was born in Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich. on Oct. 8, 1935, a son of Fred and Grace (Steveling) Grover.
On Nov. 16, 1956, he married Joan Laleike. They divorced in 1980.
Pete enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1957 and was called to action during the Berlin Crisis.
In the army he was recognized as an expert rifleman.
After his discharge from the service, Pete followed his father in the foundry business, retiring in 1992.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and in his later years, he especially loved shooting pool with his close friend Kelly Nobs.
Pete is survived by two sons, Bret (Tina) Grover, Hopewell Junction, N.Y. and Jason (Beatriz Hernandez) Grover of Evansville; four grandchildren, Nicolas, Alexandra, Seth and Brianna; brothers, Fred Jr. (Shirley) and Dave (Bev); a sister, Virginia (Frank) Ferreira; his former wife, Joan (Guy) Breger; and many nieces and nephews.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James.
The family gives special thanks to the Madison Veterans Administration Hospital and to the nurses at HospiceCare.
