Arla E. Krueger

Arla E. Krueger (nee Volentine) of Daytona Beach, Fla., formerly of Hartford, went peacefully to her Savior in Heaven Monday, May 14, 2007 at her residence. She was 93 years old. Arla was born to Orlo and Grace (nee Helser) Volentine on Sept. 13, 1913 in Shiocton. She married Gerald Krueger on Aug. 18, 1937. Arla attended the Professional School of Photography in Indiana. For over 23 years, she and her husband, Gerald, were the former owners of Krueger’s Photography in Hartford. Arla enjoyed playing bridge, knitting, crocheting, making jewelry, oil painting, and traveling. She was active in her church and for 25 years was a member of the Altar Society at Peace Lutheran in Hartford.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years and nine months, Gerald; two children, Kent (Bonnie) Krueger of Hartford and Kim (Merel) Kerr of Ashland; six grandchildren, Cassandra (Brent) Canny, Celeste (Christopher) Kuchinski, Kevin Krueger, Heather (Keith) Gray, Nikole (Kevin) Kahn and Mariah (Adam) Traaholt; and six great- grandchildren, Cody, Seth, Jenna, Jessica, Brandon and Jaden. Arla is further survived by other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Vance and William; and a sister, Vivian.

Funeral Services for Arla will be Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at 7 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 1001 Center St., Hartford, with Rev. David Wietzke officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday at the church from 4-7 p.m. Interment will be Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Memorials to Peace Lutheran Church Building Fund appreciated.
