Ruben W. Kind
Ruben W. Kind, 91, of West Bend was born to eternal rest on Friday, May 4, 2007 at his home after a short battle with cancer.
He was born on April 8, 1916 in Columbus to the late Herman and Ida (nee Moersfelder) Kind.
At a young age, Ruben moved with his family to West Bend and graduated from West Bend High School in 1933.
Ruben learned photography and opened his own studio in West Bend.
On April 27, 1941 he was united in marriage to Ella Oelhafen at St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church, West Bend.
In 1943 Ruben an-swered the call to serve his country and served in the United States Navy during World War II.
After the war, he returned to West Bend and the Kind Studio, which he operated until 1965.
He then worked at the West Bend Co. until his retirement in 1981.
His loving wife, Ella, preceded him in death in 1999.
Ruben was a member of St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church, and enjoyed his family and Fishing.
He is survived by three children, Carole (Roman) Breit, Richard (Sharon) Kind and Ronald (Evea) Kind; four grandchildren, Cindy (Roger) Skibin-ski, Robert (Amy) Kind, Tracy (Arnold) Morales and Kelly Kind; six great-grandchildren, Brian and Kyle Skibin-ski, Haley and Ally Kind, Madison Kind and Joey Morales; a step-great-grandson, Naldito Mor-ales; a sister-in-law, Min-nie Justman of West Bend; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by two infant sons, Robert and Kenneth.
A memorial service for Ruben was held on Thursday, May 17, at St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church for those who loved him and showed it.
Burial of his cremated re-mains followed in Washington County Memorial Park.
Myrhum-Patten Funeral and Cremation Service, West Bend, assisted the family.
