John C. "Jack" Schwieso
John C. "Jack" Schwieso, 64, of M323 Elm Street, Marshfield, died on Thursday, May 17, 2007 at his home surrounded by his family and friends.
Jack was born on Aug. 8, 1942 in Loyal to Theodore and Orel (Hutchins) Schwieso. He attended Loyal High School, then entered the United States Army on May 10, 1960 during the Vietnam conflict. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam before his honorable discharge on Feb. 26, 1963.
He and Arlene Weber Larson were married on Oct. 25, 2002 at St. Peterís Lutheran Church.
He had a varied work history until he completed training as a police officer and then served on the Marshfield Police Department from Aug. 3, 1970 to Aug. 9, 1977.
Jack then entered the trucking business from 1977 to 1982. He moved to Montana for a time, returned to Wisconsin in 1983, then started work at Stromberg Motors in Appleton. He spent most of his career as a sales manager for Jim Maldwin at Westside Garage in Berlin. Jack also worked for a short time for Mid-State Truck in Marshfield before he retired in 2003.
Jack was a member of St. Peterís Church, Disabled Ameri-can Veterans, Harley Ownersí Group, and a past member of the Marshfield Elks Lodge.
Jack is survived by his wife, Arlene; his mother, Orel Schwieso of Chili; five children, Ann (Matthew) Zeegers of Appleton, Terry (Nicki) Schwieso of Mukwonago, Todd (Mary) Schwieso of New Berlin, John (Jessica) Schwieso of West Bend, and Sara (Jeffrey) Poupore of West Bend; five step-children, Ritchie (Liz Swisher, MD) Larson MD, of Seattle, Wash, Mitchell (Kristi) Larson of Marshfield, Kory Larson of Huntley, Ill., Bradly (Brenda) Larson of Marshfield and Darwin Larson of Unity. Surviving grandchildren include Caleb and Taylor Zeegers, Payton, Jacob, Megan, Haley, Jade and Jorja Schwieso, Quentin, Clean and Gwyneth Poupore; Nicole, Stephanie, Trenton, Tre-vor, Trey, Taylor, Haylie, Jack and Reagan Larson.
He is further survived by his brothers and sisters, Duaine (Mary) Schwieso of Chili, James (Barbara) Schwieso of Waunakee, Bruce (Cathy) Schwieso of Appleton, Cheri (Dennis Geurt-sen) Schwieso of Arpin, Char-maine (Russell) Becker of Sussex and Brian (Lois) Schwieso of Marshfield.
Jack was preceded in death by his father, Theodore, and a brother, Theron "Terry" Schwieso.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday at St. Peterís Lutheran Church in the town of McMillan with Rev. Anthony L. Straeske. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Duaine, James, Bruce and Brian Schwie-so, Karl Zimmermann, and Donald Haralson serving as pallbearers and Melvin "Doc" Muller as an honorary pallbearer. Military Rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the American Legion Post #54 of Marshfield.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Rembs/Kundinger Funeral Home and again on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Jack will always be remembered for his sense of humor, and his love of life, family and friends. He will be missed but never forgotten.
