Leon G. Strzok

Leon G. Strzok, 57, of the town of West Bend, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2007 in the comfort of his home with his loving wife by his side.

He was born on Jan. 22, 1950, in Milwaukee, to the late Leon and Gladys (nee Krimkowski) Strzok.

Leon loved his country and was proud to enlist in the United States Army, serving two tours of duty as a combat engineer in Vietnam from 1968 until 1970.

Following his return from the service, Leon worked as an operating engineer. He worked for Traylor Brothers until a work-related injury forced him into early retirement in 1990.

Leon enjoyed his career and the adrenaline rush that he would get from working in the underground tunneling business.

Before his injury, Leon enjoyed hunting. He was also an avid fisherman and loved being outdoors.

He was united in marriage to Patty Wierman, on Oct. 26, 1991, at St. Annís Chapel in Milwaukee.

Leon was very spiritual in Native American culture and enjoyed making Native American crafts.

Survivors include his loving wife, Patty; his three children, Kevin (Moe) Strzok of Vancouver Island, B.C., Canada, Dawn (Mark) Wettig of Easton, Wash. and Jessie (Sam) Nye of Hudson; and three grandchildren, Makayla and Zackary Nye of Hudson, and Jayden Strzok of Vancouver Island.

He is further survived by his brother, Robert (Ellen) Strzok of Oak Creek; his two sisters, Marcy Strzok of Mil-waukee and Cindy (Rex) Deal of Waldo; special friends, John and Laura Hayes; and many other dear relatives and close friends.

In honor of Leonís wishes, a private family service will be held.
