Alice H. Yogerst
Alice H. Yogerst, nee Koepsel, 84 of West Bend died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007 at the Kathy Hospice in the town of Polk.
She was born March 6, 1923 in Theresa to the late Martin and Adela (nee Asenbauer) Koepsel and married Richard P. Yogerst on Oct. 20, 1945 at Holy Angels Catholic Church.
Richard preceded her in death on March 6, 1992.
Alice graduated from Kewas-kum High School as the valedictorian in 1940.
She worked at the Wisconsin Electric and Power Co. for a short time before working at the West Bend Co. until retiring in 1991.
She was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader.
Alice was a member of the former Christian Mothers and currently was a member of the Legion of Mary at Holy Angels Catholic Church, West Bend.
She also enjoyed her membership in the West Bend Lodge 732 Women of the Moose and was a member of the Partners of St. Joseph’s Community Hospital.
Survivors include her daughter Mary (Jim) Gumm of West Bend, and the pride of her life, her grandchildren: Katie (Bee) Xiong of St. Paul, Minn. and Nick Gumm of West Bend.
She is further survived by her two nephews, Tom (Lynn) Casper of Waukesha and Jim Casper of Kenosha; and other relatives and friends.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her parents; and her sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Harold Casper.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Nov. 8, at 1:30 p.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church, with Rev. Gerald Brittain presiding.
Burial will follow in Holy Angels Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, at the church from 11 a.m. until 1:15 p.m.
Memorials to the family to be divided among Alice’s favorite charities are appreciated.
