Dorothy M. Kandel

Dorothy M. Kandel, nee Junk, 90, of West Bend died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007 at the Cedar Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Nov. 3, 1917 in the town of Barton to the late Andrew and Celia (nee Otten) Junk and married Walter W. Kandel on Jan. 24, 1942 at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Church.

Walter preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 2000.

Dorothy was a secretary at the Washington County A.S.C.S. until her retirement.

She enjoyed bowling, traveling and hunting with her husband.

Dorothy was an avid Packers fan and an extremely proud grandmother.

Survivors include two sons, Charles (Rita) of West Bend and Rev. Timothy of Wilton Manors, Fla.; and her grandson, Andy of West Bend.

She is further survived by a sister, Kathryn (Alois) Eilbes of Cedarburg; a sister-in-law, Mar-garet Jung of Kewaskum; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her brothers, Edwin and Norbert, and her sisters, Lucille and Celia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 6 p.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, West Bend, with Rev. Sean Granger presiding.

Burial will be Wednesday in St. Mary’s Old Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday at the church only from 4 until 5:45 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association are appreciated.
