William R. "Bill" Gee

William R. "Bill" Gee, 74, of Hartford, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007 at his residence after a long, courageous, hard-fought battle.

He was born Oct. 3, 1933 in Milwaukee to Roy and Edna (nee Janke) Gee, and married Nancy Medved on Sept. 11, 1954 at St. Florian Catholic Church in Milwaukee.

Bill was an alderman in Hartford for over 23 years.

He was a member of St. Kilian Catholic Church and Hartford Senior Friends.

Bill worked for Broan Manufacturing for 42 years.

He enjoyed playing cards, woodworking, bowling, waterskiing (even going barefoot), going up north and playing bingo and the slots.

Bill is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy; his loving children, Karen (Phil) Cook of Adams-Friendship, Cheryl (Ralph) Wiedmeyer of Hartford, Michael (DeAnn) Gee of West Bend, Mark Gee of Adams-Friendship and Mary (Dave) Lofy of Richfield; his grandchildren, Stephen (Laura), Bill, Michele (Brian), Tami (Larry), Becki, Craig, Marcus, Ariel, Danielle, Abby, Matt, Noah, Dustin and Samantha: his great-grandchildren, Mikayla, Michael, Morgan and Sophia; his sister, Patricia Fenhouse of South Milwaukee; and his brother, Robert (Kathy) Gee of Montello.

He is further survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Donald Gee; a brother-in-law, Bill Fenhouse; a son-in-law, Steve Smilko; and a grandson, Benja-min Lofy.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Bill will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 10 a.m. at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Hartford, with Father David LaPlante officiating.

Family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday at the Shimon Funeral Home, Hartford, from 4 to 8 p.m. with a prayer vigil at 7:30 p.m.

Interment will be in St. Kilian Cemetery, Hartford.
