Leona "Onie" Ott
Funeral services were held for Leona "Onie" Ott of Lasata Care Center, formerly of the town of Cedarburg, on Nov. 3 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton.
Onie died at the age of 88 on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007 at Lasata.
The Rev. John Suel-flow officiated the service.
The family received visitors at the church prior to the service and burial followed at St. Paul Cemetery.
Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington assisted the family with arrangements.
Onie was born July 21, 1919 on the family farm in the town of Cedarburg where she lived until moving to Lasata two years ago.
She was the daughter of Emil and Louise Herber Schlegel. On Dec. 14, 1940 she married Edward Ott Jr. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton. The couple operated the family farm.
Edward preceded her in death in 1980.
Onie was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
She was very active for 47 years in the St. Paul Women’s Guild, where she served as the cook.
She was active at the Grafton Senior Center, helping with the noon meal site program, serving as the officer in charge of crafts and singing in the choir. She also enjoyed playing cards.
Onie is survived by her daughter Darlene (Michael) Sukowski of the town of Cedarburg. She was a special "Aunt" to the late Wilburt (Doris) Schlegel; and special "great Aunt" to Jim (Sue) Schlegel and his children Dana and Angela, David (Pam) Schlegel and the late Tim Schlegel.
Onie was preceded in death by her sister Irma (Krueger) Schmidt.
