Leona N. "Susie," "Auntie" Stahl

Leona N. "Susie," "Auntie" Stahl (nee Truebenbach), 85, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007 at Kathy Hospice, town of Polk.

She was born on Sept. 18, 1922 to Michael and Ella (nee Nohl) Truebenbach, in the town of Fredonia, and on June 7, 1947, she married Henry C. Stahl at Holy Trinity Church in Newburg.

He preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 2000.

She began her career with the United States Postal Service in 1949, retiring in 1984 as postmaster at Newburg.

She was a member of the National Association of Post-masters, serving two terms as vice president.

Leona was an active member of St. Peterís United Church of Christ in Saukville, serving terms as an elder and deacon, and gave countless hours of her time helping with rummage sales and other fund raisers.

After retirement, she and Henry enjoyed many winters of Arizona sunshine.

Survivors include her nieces, Shirley (Paul) Liermann and Judith (Brian) Harris; a nephew, Donald (Sandra) Truebenbach; a sister-in-law, Dorena Trueben-bach; and other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers and three sisters-in-law.

A funeral service in memory of Leona will be held on Saturday, Nov. 10, at noon at St. Peterís United Church of Christ in Saukville.

Visitation with family and friends will be held at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at noon.

Entombment will take place on Monday, Nov. 12, at 10 a.m. at Washington County Memorial Park in West Bend.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to St. Peterís United Church of Christ or Kathy Hospice.
